- / Commutations -
Assist the Global Head of Liability Portfolio Management - GHLPM in the development and delivery of commutations strategy for SCOR - P&C contracts, worldwide. -
- efine commutation targets, in coordination with the various departments concerned within SCOR (Underwriting / Administrative / Actuarial / Legal / Finance) -
- arrying out commutations (Treaty / Fac / Retro) to generate a significant positive impact for SCOR: R
- elease an accounting profit. R
- educe the future volatility of some risks. R
- educe the administrative charge induced by the long and difficult management of some very old contracts. C
- lose unpaid positions. R
- elease permanent capitals potentially useful for other activities, like business development. R
- educe the need for collateralisation (e.g. Trusts / Letters of credit). T o resolve potential or existing dispute with Cedant or Retrocessionaire

- mplementing and checking the correct application of commutations procedures -
- anaging the commutations monitoring tool -
- ct as an internal point of reference for all matters relating to commutations -
- uild up and maintain an external commutation and run-off network and monitor developments in this market. 2
- / Run-off and specific book management -
- ross-functional responsibility for the management of APH (Asbestos/Pollution/Health Hazard) claims for EMEA & APAC -
- oordinate the management of portfolios in Run-Off with a view to finality, including on specific issues of major importance to SCOR -
- rganise and carry out audits of selected claims portfolios -
- oordinating specific studies linked to claims analyses -
- onitor ICS controls for commutations -
- articipating in the definition of the annual claims review plan, supervising and carrying out claims audits, possibly by coordinating the intervention of an external consultant; -
- rganise and carry out audits of claims portfolios at ceding companies on selected portfolios. -
- ake charge of the study of specific projects linked to claims analysis -
- elping to reduce technical reserves while freeing up capital for future business 3
- / Claims management - Claims Expert for Alternative solutions portfolio (AS), worldwide. Worldwide expertise and support for those claims -
- roviding technical support to internal stakeholders, essentially to Claims Experts worldwide, concerning AS portfolio -
- articipating to elaboration of new rules & guidelines when necessary -
- ssisting the Global Head of Liability Portfolio Management in the development and delivery of claims strategy for Alternative Solutions losses as part of wider group claims strategy -
- valuating, developing, reporting on and resolving complex and/or higher value individual claims, ensuring Underwriters are advised of any contractual/legal issues -
- roposing general rules to apply for the management of AS claims -
- articipating to the planning and preparation of annual client visiting/audit plan, as well as actively participating to pre-underwriting -
- ollaborating and assisting in account management, often with other internal department representatives including Underwriters, TA (Technical Accounting), Pricing and Reserving Actuaries -
- eviewing clauses and wordings in co-operation with Underwriting and the Legal Department -
- pproving financial transactions on claims within his/her authority

- roven track record of handling large and complex insurance/reinsurance losses E
- xtensive experience of the markets within responsibility S
- trong business analysis and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to present arguments effectively to a wide range of audiences E
- xcellent working knowledge and experience of exposed territories D
- emonstrate high level of technical competence in the managing and evaluation of claims K
- nowledge of insurance regulation and legislation across affected jurisdictions E
- nglish and French (written and spoken) R
equired Education M
asters degree or equivalent in Insurance, Finance
