The role of the Specification Analyst is to understand the business domain and its processes, which is mainly on life insurances. This information will later be used for documentation of specifications as per predefined standards and processes.

The Specification Analyst will report directly to the MU Project Manager and will be part of a scrum team composed of Specification Analysts, Developers and QAs.

• Functional Expertise

• Experience working in an Agile development environment and understanding of role of Specification Analyst.
• Ability to write user stories.
• Hosting of workshops with the Product Owner to validate and document business requirements.
• Analysis of existing solution on a technical and business level
• Usage of various resources like general specifications document, entity-relationship diagrams, interface specifications document, an understanding of the application framework
Ability to design user interfaces, write business rules and technical rules (such as database fields, services, batch, and other entities specific to the application framework) which describe the behavior of the new solution.

• Technical Expertise

• Work closely with our technical specialists as a team member during the solutions design, realization, and implementation phase
• Good understanding of SQL, data models and knowledge on how to update existing data models to cater for new solutions.
• Creation of operational test procedures and test cases.

College/University Education: Degree in IT

Training: Relevant certifications in requirements engineering, business analysis will be an advantage

Key Skills:

• Basic understanding of life insurances
• Good of knowledge of JIRA
• Good knowledge of business process modelling, flow diagrams
• Knowledgeable in programming language like java
• Proficiency with SQL and an understanding of relational database system
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
