As Fastned’s first Tax Manager, you will play a key role in safeguarding Fastned’s growth and impact by building a robust tax function that supports our expansion, ensures compliance, and enables us to deliver on our mission to make sustainable mobility accessible to all.

Your role

As Tax Manager, you will take ownership of all tax matters across our European organization. This is a truly unique opportunity to build the tax function from the ground up and contribute directly to shareholders value. You will be the go-to person for both strategic and operational tax topics. The strategic responsibility has a focus on guiding and advising on company (tax) structures, business initiatives, tax efficiency, and managing potential tax risks. The operational element is compliance focused. Supporting the team in handling day-to-day tax obligations such as VAT, Corporate Income Tax (CIT), and transfer pricing. In close collaboration with external tax advisors in each jurisdiction.

We expect you to:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all tax-related matters within the company
  • Advise management on tax implications of company structures and business developments
  • Manage tax compliance processes including VAT, CIT, and transfer pricing documentation for a large stock listed company (e.g. master / local file)
  • Develop and implement tax policies, procedures, and controls
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities
  • Support finance, legal and business teams with ad-hoc tax questions
  • Monitor developments in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business

Who we are looking for

You are an initiator, who likes to take ownership and work independently on your assigned tasks. Your eye for details and ability to think critically help you in making sure our financial records are up to date and accurate. With your excellent communication skills and pragmatic approach, you build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.

Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

  • University degree in Tax Law, Fiscal Economics, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience (in-house or at a consultancy/audit/law firm)
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch corporate taxation, VAT, and transfer pricing
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and able to balance strategic advice with operational execution
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, other languages are a plus
  • Hands on, outgoing and proactive mentality, ability to work independently
  • You have a genuine interest in the energy transition and Fastned’s mission
